・On August 21, 2017, Japan Carpet entered into full capacity production at its new factory in Shiga prefecture of Japan.

 

Japan Carpet Company’s headquarters in Osaka Japan are pleased to announce that they commenced the full capacity production of its new factory in Shiga on August 21, 2017.

 

Japan Carpet Co., Ltd. (JCC) established in 1854 in Osaka is currently the 2nd largest carpet tile manufacturer in Japan.  JCC has existing manufacturing capability for tufted carpet tiles, broadloom, automotive, artificial grass and rugs at its existing manufacturing operation in Sakai City, Osaka.  Currently most of sales have been domestic inside Japan and existing manufacturing capacity is utilised 100%. 

 

The new Shiga Factory is the result of strategic decision taken by the Company Directors to develop and aggressively grow the export market for carpet tiles for contract and residential applications.  JCC currently produce 6.7 million square meters of carpet tiles annually in the existing Sakai Factory. The new Shiga Factory will produce 10 million square meters of carpet tiles making JCC’s total carpet tile capacity almost 17 million square meters annually.

 

The new Shiga Factory will focus on “Made in Japan” mass high speed production, premium quality and premium service for export market where customers will enjoy extremely competitive pricing.
